The PaleoMoz project results from the congregation of efforts between two main institutions: the Institute for Plasmas and Nuclear Fusion , Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal) and the Museu Nacional de Geologia (Mozambique).
The Institute for Plasmas and Nuclear Fusion is an outstanding research institution whose research is focused in two main areas: Controlled Nuclear Fusion and Intense Lasers and Plasma Technologies. On its research activities it has also developed the ability to employ the high-end technology used to develop cutting edge research on material characterization to effectively help resolving paleontological problems.
Museu Nacional de Geologia is the oldest Mozambican museum dedicated to education and research of the geological and paleontological heritage of Mozambique. The Museu Nacional de Geologia has several educational projects on environmental and geological importance of mineral resources of Mozambique and organizes and co-organizes yearly geological and paleontological expeditions.
